What is compounding?

A compounding pharmacy creates personalized medications based on a provider’s prescription to meet a patient’s specific needs—such as dosage strength, form, or ingredient sensitivities—not available from mass-produced drugs. These medications are made from raw ingredients, one prescription at a time, and can take forms like creams, capsules, troches, or injectables.

Compounding plays a vital role when commercial drugs are on the FDA shortage list, alternative administration is needed, or custom formulations are required.

MediVera Compounding Pharmacy™ is a 503a compounding pharmacy that helps bridge these gaps by adhering to USP guidelines and maintaining PCAB accreditation, with every preparation compounded under pharmacist-directed protocols and tested for potency, purity, and sterility.
